Fire Safety in Commercial Buildings

Although we like to think tragedy will never strike, unfortunately, it does. Whether it be in your home, on the road, or at work, it can come when you are least expecting it. However, some things can be prevented and lives can be saved if you have a plan of action in emergency situations!
Plan of Action in a Commercial Building
Commercial buildings can often be the most deadly forms of tragedy. If in the event of a fire at home, people know where they can and can't go and how to get there. However, at work, that might not be the case. It is extremely important that employees know where to exit in case of a fire while at work. We recommend a few things to help.
- It is best if there are exit signs posted around the building as well as pictures depicting the route to the nearest exit. If people are aware of the exits as well as the routes they can take to get there, they will be able to act more efficiently in an emergency situation.
- We also recommend commercial buildings have fire drills at least once a month. By conducting fire drills, employees of a commercial building can familiarize themselves with the nearest exit and the quickest route to get out safely.
By implementing these tips, commercial buildings can help reduce the severity of a tragedy and prepare people in the event that it occurs.
